After the demise of the scandinavian hardcore outfit Subject To Change, the Swedish part of the combo reformed, added a new singer and The Change was born. Taking off where STC left they kept the feeling of the well produced youth crew hardcore sound that STC were known for. Add more punkrock and rock flavours to that and you might get a clue of where The Change is heading at. STC never quite managed to get the respect of the scene that they had earned, but the story is now different. After playing tons of shows in Sweden and Norway The Change is the band everyone talks about in Scandinavia and is nowadays considered by many to be the best hardcore outfit from Sweden.

Monument and District19 are proud to present a split 7” with two of the most talked-about bands in Sweden, Scandinavia: The Change is a hard working band with previous releases on Monument (MR.001) and Fight Fire With Fire Rec. (FFWF006). The band also appears on several compilations: One Track Mind (Crucial Response), Rise Up (Fight Fire With Fire) and What We Built (Dead Eyed). They’ve toured Europe and played numerous shows both in Sweden and Norway.
The Change brings you a unique sound and style on side A. Melodic, catchy and rocked out hardcore. Are you up for the Change?
Path Of No Return, recently signed by Gangstyle Records, is for sure one of the hardest, metallic band there is in Europe. They got attention with their debut record “Death Is Promised” which was released earlier this year by District19 and Unity Is All together with their live sets that brought the mosh into the pits.
If you’re down with bands like Hatebreed, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban and the likes you’ll love this. Mosh it up!

Another Year

Monument

Another Year was formed under the name Without a heart sometime during the spring of 2004. They were quickly recognized by the Swedish hardcore scene due to intense touring and a demo that was recorded during the summer. At last, the dying scene had finally got what it had been waiting for. A new, young and fresh band that was ready to give just about everything to make the band as big as its potential.

Taking inspiration from a lot of modern hardcore bands, such as Shai Hulud, Give up the Ghost, Comeback Kid and Strike Anywhere, they are just as conscious about their roots, which earn them a reputation of being a modern Turning Point. Though, they are first and foremost known for creating a unique sound and setting new standards for the Swedish hardcore scene, stylistically and artistically.

Despite the short existence of the band Another Year have played a lot of shows throughout Scandinavia and scored supporting sets for bands as Shai Hulud, The First Step, Mental, Champion, Comeback Kid.

Another Year entered the Deadline Studios in their hometown Trollhättan, Sweden and the final outcome went beyond expectations of anyone involved. The recording is strong and heavy and manifests the intense emotions and rawness that have become Another Year’s trademark for their live performances in a perfect way.

Kind That Kills, the
S/t
Monument / Dead Vibrations
60 SEK
Quantity:
The Kind That Kills is a hardcore outfit residing in Stockholm, Sweden with a motive to renew and take their particular blend of modern American hardcore with a Swedish soul past the obvious clichés of today’s scene.

Born from previous well-established common projects first and foremost between Pär (ex 8 Days of Nothing) on guitar, drummer Per (ex Second Thought, Bruce Banner), and guitarist Stefan (ex Second Thought), The Kind That Kills found its true form in 2004. The final line-up harbors Peter (Between Us) on vocals and Kalle (ex Bad News) on bass.

This exceptional five-piece manages not only to overcome some of the most monumental hardcore platitudes in their lyrics but also mediate a truly touching contemporary affect. The heartfelt vocals delivered with an alarming sense of urgency transcends the entrapment of legacy as this bands continuously walks in the footsteps of the more heartfelt and honest contemporary punk/hardcore acts.

With the release of their debut self-titled EP scheduled for November 22nd 2006 on Dead Vibrations, Soulcity and Monument, The Kind That Kills set out to change the way we view Swedish hardcore forever.
Track listing:

1. Start again
2. End of the road

Rentokiller came to life in the late summer of 2000. Since then, the primary motivator has been to consciously evolve with every step forward. Vigil shows a clear progression from last years fullength debut "Cadaveri eccelente".
The EP features 7 original tracks, all highly individual, but equally relentless and restless. Rentokiller steals shamelessly from every genre imaginable and corrupts every influence to something of their own. Think of a mixture between late Converge and Refused as a basis, with hints of jazz, pop, earlier deathmetal, punk and worldmusic throwed in for increased dynamics and versatility.
The EP features lyrics in English, Swedish & Finnish, which increases its eclectic qualities even further. In short: this is as surprising and intense as it gets!

Captivity songs

Sprung from, and deeply engaged in the independent music community as well as the anarchist and animalliberation-movement in Gothenburg, here's Sweden's new hope Anchor!

Formed in January 2007, not only to entertain but also provoke critical thought and inspire action Anchor threw themselves into the fray on a 16 day parade through nothern europe with Gremany's finest, Ritual only two months after the bands birth.

Musically Anchor is seeking to find the energy and inspiration bands they grew up listening to had. Bands like Abhinanda, Unbroken, Shield and Earth Crisis to name a few of many. The outcome can be seen as a natural extension of how all of them are activists in one sense or the other. Be it through playing music, doing fanzines, promoting shows or getting active in local political groups.

Anchor's first release entitled "Captivity songs" manifests a band with an alarming need, to not only be creative and scream and shout but more importantly also to reach out and communicate ideas and feeling in an adequate way.
We feel that very few bands care to do this nowadays.

All of this together makes Anchor a band to be reckoned with for a long time in the future.
Reinstate your hearts!

1. Beyond reason and logic
2. Far above

Review - Itsatrap.com
The furious opening track ("Cursory") leads the way. You can tell that this band apologizes for nothing. Per Stålberg from Division of Laura Lee is featured in the line-up and, to some extent, it shows. Especially in "A jawbone night" where the indie-/noiserock that DoLL does so well is present during the entire song. Besides that, this has nothing to do with said band, seeing that we're dealing with vicious hardcore in the vein of Jesus Lizard and Minor Threat and, basically, the entire Dischord back-catalogue. Add a little Converge to that recipe and we have a winner. Because this is the most intense stuff I've heard from a Swedish band for quite some time now. In fact, not since I heard Step Forward's "Away" for the first time have I been this blown away. And that right there shows for something. Hell, the breakdown in "Chemically obsessed" sends shivers down the spine. Definitely on my top 10 for 2007! Hardcore attack? You bet! - Jonas Appelqvist, www.itsatrap.com
